Born to Break You Out

Break Escape was started in Battle Creek, MI at the Halloween Park, FEAR THE FARM in 2014. The 2nd location opened up in 2018 in Arlington Heights, IL with David Lanuti & Mark Cochovity, who both had designed the original location in Michigan. We enjoy designing rooms and building 90% of our own props. Most of all, we love helping people laugh at themselves. Since opening our doors in the suburbs of Chicago, we've helped thousands of teams, families, and thrill-seekers discover what they're made of...one puzzle at a time.

Pairing with Chick 'N Fizz...

In 2025 we moved down the block to 20 S. Evergreen Ave in Arlington Heights, IL and added 4 more rooms for a total of 9. The length of times are anywhere from 10 / 30 / 60 mins. We designed it like a movie theater with the rooms wrapping around the outside and our sister company - Chick 'N Fizz in the middle of the Lobby! This way we can provide entertainment along with great food and "dirty" sodas which are all the rage now. This is great for corporate events, birthday parties, family outings and of course DATE night.www.chicknfizz.com

Everything you need to know before you arrive

Not at all. Our game masters brief every group before the session and our rooms are designed for all experience levels. First-timers are welcome — and often surprise themselves.

Our rooms accommodate between 4 and 8 players depending on the room. For larger groups (up to 50), check out our Corporate & Groups packages where multiple rooms run simultaneously.

Players must be at least 8 years old and accompanied by an adult.

7 - rooms are 60 minutes. / 1 - room is 30 minutes / 1 - room is 10 minutes.We recommend arriving 15 minutes early for check-in and your pre-game briefing.

Your game master monitors the room throughout and can offer hints via an in-room microphone.

Yes! All of our rooms are booked as private sessions — your group will never be paired with strangers. The room is yours for the full time.

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before your session receive a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable, but we're happy to reschedule for a future date.

Our venue is wheelchair accessible. Some puzzle elements require physical movement, so please contact us in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate your group's needs.

Outside food and drinks are not permitted inside the rooms. Our sister company, Chick 'N Fizz is in the lobby and has all kinds of Wings, Corn Dogs, Pierogis, Curds, etc...and of course "Dirty" sodas and Specialty sodas, For corporate events, catering coordination is available. Yes! Gift cards are available in any amount and can be purchased at the front desk or by calling us. They make a perfect gift for birthdays, holidays, or anyone who loves a good challenge.
